Risk Manager

 


Role
RSA is seeking a Risk Manager to assume overall responsibility for the Risk Management function in Italy.  An experienced Insurance Risk Manager, with a broad knowledge of all risk areas, the successful applicant will be responsible for the identification, measurement and management of risk, providing challenge and support to ensure the Business understands and manages the risks it faces.  The role holder will report directly to the CEO of the Italian Operation.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering the risk strategy and plans to ensure Group and/or Country/Regional risks are controlled in accordance with best practice and RSA’s risk appetite.
  • Delivering a comprehensive risk framework, in line with Group, including an integrated risk methodology and high quality streamlined risk reporting that meets internal and external needs.
  • Providing strong leadership and direction on risk issues, working closely with regional risk leaders, executives and local managers to ensure that risk management concepts, approaches and techniques are widely understood and embedded throughout the Operation and that key risks are identified and effective controls and mitigants are in place.
  • Ensuring that effective and robust Portfolio Management is in place that demonstrates effective management of Insurance Risk
  • Ensuring effective and robust Operational Risk management is in place (including Operational Risk ICA, loss reporting, incident management, policy compliance, delegated authorities, risk appetite, breaches and dispensations)
  • Working with Legal and Regulatory and Business colleagues to contribute to the determination of RSA's response to regulatory initiatives and developments (specifically with respect to the risk disciplines) and to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to risk.
  • Providing strong leadership to members of the Risk team, motivating, developing and focussing the team to ensure delivery of required standards of excellence in service and performance and support individual development
  • Sourcing and managing key external relationships to ensure quality of service and valueInfluencing and shaping the ongoing development and enhancement of the Risk Reporting process
  • Contributing to Group Risk Leadership

  • Preferred specialism in Insurance Risk  and Insurance Portfolio Management
  • Strong / generalist knowledge of Operational & Financial Risk
  • Expertise in Enterprise Risk Management Best Practice
  • Knowledge of Insurance Regulatory requirements and practices
